SKAMANIA SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 2 - Replacement of Expiring Educational Programs & Operations Levy
Proposition 1 would authorize Skamania School District to replace an expiring levy for programs and operations by levying $302,500 for collection in 2027, $325,000 for collection in 2028, and $347,500 for collection in 2029, to pay for programs and operations not funded by the State, including class size reduction, music, maintenance/operations, food service, and administrative support.
STEVENSON-CARSON SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 303 - Three-Year Replacement Enrichment Levy
Passage of this Proposition authorizes the District to renew an expiring levy for educational programs and operations by levying $2,700,000 for collection in 2027, $2,785,000 for 2028, and $2,885,000 for 2029. In accordance with Resolution 25-26/2 approving this proposition, these taxes would be used to pay for educational programs and operations not funded by the State including teachers and staff, safety and security, supplies, facility maintenance, technology, athletics, arts, and specialized programs. Based on projected valuations, the District estimates tax rates per $1,000 of assessed value at $1.34 in TY2027; $1.25 in TY2028; and $1.18 in TY2029.
WASHOUGAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 112-6 - Proposition No. 14
This proposition authorizes Washougal School District to renew an existing educational programs and operations levy that will expire at the end of 2026. The proposed renewal levy will continue funding educational programs and operations that are not fully funded by the State, including student learning supports, staffing, technology, athletics and activities, health and safety, and maintenance and operations. Taxes collected by the proposed renewal levy will provide approximately 20% of the District’s General Fund budget. Further information is available at www.washougal.k12.wa.us. WASHOUGAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 112-6 - Proposition No. 15
This proposition authorizes Washougal School District to renew an expiring capital levy. Taxes collected from this renewal levy will be used to make districtwide safety, technology and capital improvements, including: (1) acquiring and installing security systems; (2) acquiring and installing educational technology equipment and providing related staff training and support; (3) making improvements to performing arts and athletic facilities; (4) replacing and repairing HVAC systems; and (5) modernizing and repairing playgrounds, parking lots, flooring and wall coverings. WHITE SALMON SCHOOL DISTRICT # 405-17 - Proposition No. 1
Proposition 1 authorizes school construction bonds to replace and renovate aging, deteriorating and educationally outdated school buildings and facilities that have exceeded their existing lifespans. Proposition 1 will improve student and staff health, safety and security, improve and expand general, career and technical education opportunities, improve Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility, and reduce or eliminate reliance on portable classrooms for instruction.
The bonds will allow White Salmon Valley School District to reconfigure and modernize Columbia High School, including: retrofitting, remodeling and constructing additions to existing school buildings to accommodate a larger grade band and modernize and connect the career and technical education building; expanding gymnasium spaces and improving athletic facilities; expanding commons and music/performing arts spaces; adding secure fencing; and improving heating, ventilation and air control systems and equipment (HVAC), plumbing and electrical.
The bonds will also allow White Salmon Valley School District to retrofit and remodel Henkle Middle School and Wallace & Priscilla Stevenson Intermediate School, including: retrofitting and remodeling the building to accommodate elementary school use, replacing Whitson Elementary School to create a unified K-12 campus; modernizing the entry and exterior; improving playground safety; adding secure fencing; and improving HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
The $78,000,000 of general obligation bonds will be repaid from annual excess property taxes sufficient to pay bond debt service over a maximum term of 20 years. WHITE SALMON SCHOOL DISTRICT # 405-17 - Proposition No. 2
Passage of Proposition 2 would allow White Salmon Valley School District to renew an expiring educational programs and operations levy. This renewal levy will be used to pay expenses of educational programs and operations that are not fully funded by the State of Washington, including, but not limited to: middle and high school athletics and extracurricular activities; food services; alternative education programing; materials, supplies and operating costs (MSOC); after school program staffing; teachers and support staff; staff for maintenance, security, health and safety; staff professional development; curriculum; and other equipment, curriculum, educational programs and operations expenses. The renewal levy will provide approximately 16% of the District’s General Fund budget.
The proposed three-year renewal levy would authorize the collection of up to $4,238,760 in 2027, $4,424,904 in 2028 and $4,616,600 in 2029. The levy rate per $1,000 of assessed value required to produce these amounts is estimated to be $1.61 in 2027, $1.60 in 2028 and $1.59 in 2029. The exact levy rates and amounts to be collected may be adjusted based upon the limitations imposed by State law at the time of the levy. Further information is available at www.wsvsd.org.
